Adspin.io triples bid response rate with Yango Ads App Analytics

Adspin.io is an ad exchange that helps app developers and advertisers make the most of mobile traffic. With over 100,000 apps worldwide, their mission is simple: deliver advanced advertising technology while keeping the user experience seamless. 

When Adspin.io saw that their bid response rates and match rates with the Yango Ads DMP (data management platform) were below potential, they turned to Yango Ads App Analytics. The impact was visible within a week.

We spoke with Andreas Dimitropoulos, Co-founder & CEO of Adspin.io, to learn how the team approached the integration and what results they achieved. 

What challenges were you facing before using Yango Ads App Analytics?

Before App Analytics, we weren’t fully leveraging our user data and had a low match rate with the Yango Ads DMP. Even though we had data on both sides, we couldn’t synchronize it effectively. Key metrics like fill rate, bid response rate, and RPM were below their potential.

We were collecting data through our SDK for direct traffic and via API for indirect traffic. This included basic information like geo, language, and device type, but it wasn’t enough to drive strong programmatic outcomes.

How did you discover App Analytics?

The Yango Ads team reached out and suggested we could enrich our connection with the Yango Ads SSP using App Analytics. It sounded like a simple way to make our data more actionable, so we decided to give it a try.

How did the integration work?

The process was straightforward:

  1. We integrated the App Analytics SDK into our own SDK.
  2. We set up an account to access app-level data.
  3. We included App Analytics device IDs in our OpenRTB requests, improving user understanding and leading to higher bids and response rates.

The integration took less than a day. The App Analytics team guided us through every step and answered questions in real time. We began testing on our own apps and saw results within a week.

Were there any challenges?

There were a few considerations:

  • This approach works for SDK traffic only; it doesn’t apply to adapters or API integrations.
  • Our legal team had questions, but App Analytics is a widely used, Google-verified analytical SDK, so it passed all checks.
  • We are focusing on increasing the share of direct traffic to maximize the impact of this integration.

What results did you see?

The improvements were quick and significant:

  • Bid response rate increased 3x for participating apps.
  • Metrics started improving within a week as machine learning models adapted to the enriched data.

The most important lesson we learned is that data enrichment is extremely valuable — it directly improves match rates, bid quality, and overall ad performance.
